It is submitted that earlier, the industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 issued vide No. RO/ASR/WPC/2012/F-15 dated 15/03/2012, extended up to 31/03/2016 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide No. RO/ASR/APC/2012/F-19 dated 15/03/2012, extended up to 31/03/2016 under the Green category.
Now, the Industry has applied for obtaining consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS in the Orange category. The Industry has deposited Rs. 19,200/- vide Receipt No. 41/4573 dated 25/09/2018 as consent fee under Water Act, 1974 & Rs. 19200/- vide Receipt No. 43/4573 dated 25/09/2018 as consent fee under Air Act, 1981 which is adequate up to 31/03/2024 under both Acts. The industry has also deposited Rs. 500/- vide R.No. 42/4573 dtd 25/09/2018 as an application form fee.
The industry has submitted a license bearing no. WBI/ASR/2014-15/708 issued by divisional forest officer to operate saw mill / veneer / plywood industry, whose expiry date is 14/09/2024.
To process the consent applications, the industry was visited by officer of this office on 27/09/2018 and observed as under:-
1. The industry was engaged in the process of manufacturing of textile accessories by using wood as a raw material.
2. The industry has installed vertical saw (01 no.), hot press (02 nos.) and peeler (01 no.) for the production purpose.
3. The industry has installed a baby boiler of capacity 385 Kg/hr, which is equipped with cyclone as an APCD and stack of height 30 ft approx. with adequate sampling arrangement.
4. The wood was being used as a fuel in the furnace of the boiler.
5. The industry has installed a D.G. Set of capacity 12 KVA with canopy.
If approved and in the view of above, the application may be send to Zonal Office, Amritsar with recommendations that the Consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted for the period of five years.
