File Note: It is intimated that the industry is small scale, red category induction furnace unit. The registration details were checked and found correct. The documents uploaded by the industry were verified. Earlier the industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 No. R15JALCTOW2293350 Dated 22.01.2015 valid upto 30.06.2018No. R15JALCTOA2293197 Dated 22.01.2015 valid upto 30.06.2018 respectively. Now the industry has applied for consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981. The industry has deposited Rs. 15000/- vide R.No. 52/4874 dated 18.09.2018 under Water Act 1974 and Rs. 15000/- vide R.No. 51/4874 dated 18.09.2018 under Air Act, 1981 and Rs. 3000/- vide R.No. 53/4874 dated 18.09.2018 as NOC fee which is adequate upto 30.06.2023. The industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 24.09.2018 and it was observed that the industry was in operation during visit and is engaged in nickel- chrome electroplating process. The industry has installed water meter on pipe line from fresh water is consumed in process and water meter reading during visit was 283.7 KL. Collection tank of capacity 5000 ltr has been provided to store effluent generated from process and app. 2000 ltr of effluent was lying stored during visit. The industry has signed agreement with CETP @ 7.5 Kl/month for lifting of effluent generated from process. The industry is maintaining record of water consumption in process and effluent lifting by CETP operator. As per record maintained the industry has consumed fresh water of 23770 ltr in process area and has got effluent lifted to CETP operator of 22000 ltr during period from 01.04.2018 to till date. The industry has installed 2 no. pit furnaces (coal fired) with adequate stacks and 1 no. shot blasting machine with inbuilt bag house as APCD. The industry has dismantled 1 no. induction furnace of capacity 100 kg/heat which was previously installed at site. The site of industry falls in approved Industrial Area of Jalandhar. The industry has already submitted buildings plan approved from Director of Factories, Punjab. The industry is complying with conditions of consent granted to it under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act 1981. Recommendation:- Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2023 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
