File Note: It is intimated that the industry is pharmaceutical formulation small scale orange category unit and was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. O14LDH2CTOW1334744 dated 10.06.2014 and Under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. O14LDH2CTOA1334719 dated 11.06.2014, upto 30.09.2018 for trade effluent discharge @ 0.02 KLD for solar evaporation pond. Now, the industry has applied for consent under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 alongwith documents. The industry has now changed the mode of disposal of its trade effluent and has installed ETP of capacity 01 KLD to treat untreated effluent generated from washing section. The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 04.10.2018 and observed that:- 1. The industry was in operation. 2. The industry has installed machinery for mixing grinding  drying  compressing to form tablets  packing. 3. The only source of trade effluent is pan washing of mixing and grinding unit. 4. The industry has installed an ETP for treatment of trade effluent and treated effluent was being discharged onto land for plantation. The sample of effluent collected by approved Board Lab. i.e. M/s SIMA Lab. Pvt. Ltd, New Delhi on 24.09.2018 from final outlet of ETP and as per analysis report various parameters are within the limits. 5. Domestic effluent was being discharged onto land for plantation through septic tank. 6. The industry has installed one DG of capacity 15 KVA which is fitted with canopy. 7. The industry is complying with the conditions of consents granted to it. Now, as per modified directions issued by CPCB u/s 18(1) (b) of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 regarding harmonization of classification of industrial sectors under red, orange, green, white categories vide its letter dated 07.03.2016 along with the "Final documents on revised classification of industrial sectors under red, orange, green & white categories" which also includes the consent period for which the consents are to be granted to red, orange & green category industries for five years, ten years & 15 years respectively. The Board vide its letter no. 9982-1003 dated 27.03.2018 has requested this office to strictly follow consent validity criteria as mentioned in the modified directions issued by CPCB u/s 18(1) (b) of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. This being orange category unit, consent for a period of ten years can be granted. In view of the above, it is recommended that consent under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2028 with usual conditions.
