It is intimated that the above said industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 valid upto 30.06.2018.
Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board. The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 12.10.2018 and engaged in the manufacturing of G.M valves and cocks and C.P fitting. The industry has installed electroplating section. The industry has installed 1 no. collection tank of approx. 2000 ltr capacity. The industry has made agreement with the M/s JBR technology for lifting trade effluent @ 5000 ltr/month. During visit water meter reading was noted as 480.86 KL. The industry is maintaining record of water consumption in process as water effluent lifting by JBR Technology. The industry has last lifted trade effluent to M/s JBR Technology, Ludhiana @ 2000 ltr vide 47383 dated 05.10.2018.
During the visit the industry has stored approx. 1100 ltr trade effluent in the tank. The domestic effluent is discharge into sewer. The industry has installed 1 no. coal fired pit furnace with adequate stack height. The industry has submitted approved building plan from Director of Factories.
The industry has deposited consent fee under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, which is adequate upto 30.06.2024. The industry is small scale red category and the competency of case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Jalandhar.
Recommendation:- Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2023 with usual conditions.
