As per the report of Regional Office,
1. The industry has installed water meter at fresh water supply, whose reading was 294 KL during the visit. The industry is maintaining record of fresh water consumption vis-à-vis trade effluent lifted to CETP operator. As per record, the reading on 27.07.2018 was 295 KL. Hence, the industry is not maintaining actual record. Moreover, the industry has not maintained the record of August 2018. The representative of the industry did not give any satisfactory reply and simply told that the unit was not in operation in August 2018.
2. The industry has neither obtained the permission from Central Ground Water Authority for abstraction/use of fresh water nor applied to the Central Ground Water Authority.
3. The industry has not submitted any proper compliance of Manufacturing, Storing and Import of Hazardous Chemical Rules, 1989. The clarification was raised to the industry and the industry has submitted that they are using only H2SO4 @ 4 Kg/day and caustic soda @ 0.5 Kg/day. However, the industry has not given any compliance w.r.t. storage/handling of hazardous chemicals. The industry has also not given the detail of fire fighting equipments in case of emergency
It is recommended that show cause notice for revocation of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 may be issued to the industry with an opportunity of personal hearing before the yourgoodself.
