It is intimated that the industry was earlier granted consent vide no. R14LDH2CTOW891147 dated 25/02/2014 valid upto 30/06/2018 under Water Act, 1974 & vide no. R14LDH2CTOA886571 dated 25/02/2014 expired on 30/06/2018 under Air Act, 1981 under red category.
Now, the industry has applied for ‘Consent to Operate’ under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 alongwith documents under green category. Accordingly, the industry was visited by officer of this office on 15.10.2018 and it was observed that industry engaged in the process of manufacturing of soap by using palm, fats, rice bran fats, caustic, sodium silicate as raw material. Industry has installed five mixing pans. Industry has installed adequate stack on wood fired chulle type furnaces but hood provided on it were found damaged and rusted.
The industry has not installed stack on its wood fired furnace. Industry has not installed any D.G set. There is no source of trade effluent generation and only domestic effluent is discharged into sewer.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued to the industry.
