It is intimated that earlier the industry was granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 vide no. R16LDH2CTOW4188824 dt 22.6.2016 valid upto 30.6.2018.
Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 alongwith documents through OCMMS. The consent fee deposited by the industry is adequate upto 30.6.2023
The industry was given personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer of the Board on 14.8.2018, wherein it was decided that:-
“ Environmental Engineer, Regional office shall get the industry revisited to verify the contentions made by it as above and shall submit report and recommendations accordingly within 3 days .”
In compliance to the above, the industry was visited by Officers of this office on 29.9.2018 and it was observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation during the visit.
2. The industry has made agreement with M/s JBR Tech Pvt Ltd Unit-2, Ludhiana @ 1500 Ltr/M for the lifting of spent acid.
3. The industry has provided one pickling tank of capacity 1000 ltr which was full during the visit.
4. The industry has provided one water meter with reading 19.15 KL during the visit. As per record, reading on 1.7.2018 was 15.20 KL. Hence the industry has been consumed 3.95 KL of fresh water from 1.7.2018 to 29.9.2018.
5. Spent acid lifted since 1.7.2018= 4.2 KL (including previous balance as on 1.7.2018)
6. The industry is now complying with the decisions of the hearing as well as water pollution control norms.
In view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.6.2023 with suitable conditions and with special condition that the industry shall shift its unit to designated industrial area as per the provisions of the Master Plan, Ludhiana.
