• It is intimated that the industry is a small scale orange category unit and was engaged in the process of casting of valves and cocks at site.
• The industry was given personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office, Jalandhar on 10.09.2018 under the name of S.V.N Engineering and wherein, it was decided as under:-
1. The industry shall apply consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 within 7 days.
2. The industry shall install hoods and stacks on furnaces within 15 days.
3. The industry shall submit letter regarding area classification from the concerned Department within 15 days.
4. Regional Office shall verify the contentions made by the industry and submit his complete report alongwith recommendations.
• Now, the industry has applied for fresh consent under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 as amended in 1987 and Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board under the name and style of M/s SVM under orange category.
• The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 18.10.2018 and observed that the unit was engaged in manufacturing of Valves and cocks.
• The unit has installed 2 no. coal fired pit furnaces with common hood and stack provided.
• There is no source of trade effluent generation only generation of domestic effluent and mode of disposal of domestic effluent has provided into sewer.
• The industry has submitted approved building plan from competent person under factories Act, Punjab.
• The industry has submitted area classification certificate issued by ATP, Municipal Corporation Jalandhar wherein it has mentioned that the industry falls in General Industrial Zone as per drawing of Master Plan 2009-2031.
• The industry has submitted Udyog Adhar certificate as per proof of date of commissioning.
• The industry falls in orange category and the competency to decide the case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer.
Keeping In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2022 with usual conditions.
