The industry has been granted ‘consent to operate’ under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/SAS/2020/11878578 dated 18/04/2020 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/SAS/2020/11982996 dated 18/04/2020, having validity upto for 30/09/2024 for manufacturing of Solar photovoltaic module @ 40 Numbers/Day and Solar Water Heating System (Tank & Collector) @ 50 Numbers/Day, subject to certain conditions.
Now, the industry has applied for obtaining varied ‘consent to operate’ under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, which is under process and has been processed separately through OCMMS.
The industry has applied for obtaining authorization under Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 as under:
• Category- 5.1-Used or spent oil @ 0.050 KL/Annum.
• Category- 5.2- Wastes or residues containing oil @ 0.050 T/Annum.
• Category- 33.1- Empty barrels/containers/liners contaminated with hazardous chemicals /wastes @ 24 Number/ Annum.
Visit:
The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 30.05.2024 and during visit, it was observed as under:
1. The industry has provided Environmental Data board outside the premises.
2. The industry was in operation and engaged in the process of manufacturing of solar water heating systems.
3. The industry has constructed a dedicated room for storage of Hazardous waste of category 5.1, 5.2 and 33.1. the said room is covered from the top, is pucca from the bottom and is provided with lock and key facility.
4. The industry is maintaining record of generation of hazardous waste being generated from its premises. As per the records, the present details of hazardous waste of the industry is as under:

4. The industry is complying with the provisions of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
In view of above, if may approved, the industry may be granted authorization under the Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary movement) Rules, 2016 for generation, collection, storage & disposal of hazardous Category- 5.1-Used or spent oil @ 0.050 KL/Annum, Category- 5.2- Wastes or residues containing oil @ 0.050 T/Annum, Category- 33.1- Empty barrels/containers/liners contaminated with hazardous chemicals /wastes @ 24 Number/ Annum, upto 30.09.2028, with usual conditions as per the policy of the Board and the following additional condition:
1. The industry shall comply with the provisions of Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016, at all times.
2. The industry shall not generate any other category of hazardous waste in its premise, except the hazardous wastes mentioned in this authorization.
3. The industry shall submit record of manifests of lifting of hazardous waste in form 10, as per the provisions of Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
4. The industry shall not dispose any of the hazardous waste through any un-authorized/legal mode, at any point of time.
