Kindly peruse the agenda note of AEE. As per the decision of hearing, the industry has now applied for obtaining fresh authorization of the following additional hazardous waste categories mentioned under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016:
Cat. 33.1- Empty barrels/ containers /liners contaminated with hazardous chemicals /wastes @ 500 Number/Annum
Cat. 33.2- Contaminated cotton rags or other cleaning materials @ 0.02 T/Annum
Cat.32.1- Spent chemicals @ 15 T/Annum
Cat.32.2- Corrosive wastes arising from use of strong acid and bases @ 12 T/Annum
Cat. 32.3- Process sludge containing absorbable organic halides( AOX) @ 350
T/Annum
Cat.21.1- Process wastes, residues and sludges @ 10 T/Annum
Cat. 5.1-Used or spent oil @ 0.02 KL/Annum
Cat. 5.2- Wastes or residues containing oil @ 0.5 T/ annum
It is therefore recommended that Authorization for collection & storage, disposal of hazardous waste be granted to the industry for five years under the HWM Rules, 2016 with special conditions that:
1. The industry shall maintain the record of generation, collection, storage of Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
2. The industry shall maintain proper record of generation and disposal of Process sludge generated from primary clarifier i.e. Cat. 32.3, which is being disposed off to M/s Shri Guru Kripa Card Board Mill, Sangrur and shall submit the same to Board every month.
3. The industry shall not throw the hazardous waste of any category outside the premises in any case.
4. The industry shall maintain the record in Form-3.
