Sub:- Application for authorization under Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 of M/s Bring Human Blood Donation Society (Regd), 1st Foor, Opposite-Guru Nanak College, Jalandhar Road, Batala, District-Gurdaspur.
It is submitted that the hospital has applied for authorization under Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 through OCMMS (for blood bank).
The hospital has deposited Rs. 1000/- vide UTR No. AXOMB15148426010 dated 30/05/2024 under Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 fee which is valid for a period upto 31.03.2025. The hospital has submitted copy of ownership, bed capacity copy of agreement, site plan/location plan. The HCF has entered into an agreement with M/s Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Plant Pvt. Ltd. Village- Pangoli, Pathankot for collection, transportation, treatment and disposal of Bio-Medical Waste generated by it same is valid upto 07/05/2027. The hospital is blood bank and competency to decide the case lies with Environmental Engineer.
In view of the above, it is recommended that authorization under Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 may be granted to the HCF for a period upto 31/12/2024 for blood bank subject to suitable conditions along with special conditions:-
1. The HCF shall install ETP-cum –STP to treat effluent being generated from the Hospital and as per instructions issued by the Board vide order No. 100 dated 10/03/2023 within time bound manner.
2. The HCF will renew its agreement time to time made with Common Bio Medical Waste Treatment Facility well before its expiry and submit the copy of same in this office.
3. The HCF shall adopt / implement the amended Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016.
