It is submitted that the industry is engaged in the business of manufacturing of tractor parts/auto parts @ 100,000 nos./day by using Steel Bar and forging @ 6 MTD as raw material and was granted Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renew/PTA/2023/24342863dated 18-12-2023 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renew/PTA/2023/24342653 dated 18-12-2023, both are valid upto 31-12-2033 under GREEN category with suitable conditions subject to conditions mentioned therein.
The industry had also obtained authorization under the Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management &Tranboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 vide no. HWM/Fresh/PTA/2024/24465700 dated 05/01/2024 valid upto 30/09/2028 for generation, collection, storage & disposal of hazardous waste pertaining to Category No. Cat. No. 5.1 @ 0.100 KL/Annum and Cat. No. 5.2 @ 0.200 T/Annum
Now, the industry has applied for obtaining fresh authorization under the Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management &Tranboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for generation, collection, storage & disposal of addition of the new categories of hazardous waste i.e., Cat. No. 5.3 @ 1.0 KL/Annum and Cat. 33.1 @ 0.5 T/Annum in addition to the existing category i.e. Cat. No. 5.1 @ 0.100 KL/Annum, Cat. No. 5.2 @ 0.200 T/Annum
The industry has also made following agreement for lifting of hazardous waste of categories mentioned below:

The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 12.06.2024 and it was observed that:-
1. The industry has provided separate space for storage of hazardous waste of different categories.
2. The industry has made agreement with following authorized recyclers for lifting / disposal of hazardous wastes of different categories.
3. The industry has provided danger sign on the hazardous waste storage area and environmental data board at the main gate of the industry.
4. At present, the industry has stored HW of different categories, which are within the permissible limits for which the industry has sought authorization.
The industry is complying with the provisions under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundry Movement) Rules, 2016.
The competency to decide the case is SEE of the Board, as per the policy of Board dated 30/04/2013.
In view the above, it is, therefore, recommended that fresh authorization may be granted to the industry under the provisions of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for generation, collection, storage & disposal of hazardous waste pertaining to Category No. Cat. No. 5.1 @ 0.100 KL/Annum, Cat. No. 5.2 @ 0.200 T/Annum, Cat. No. 5.3 @ 1.0 KL/Annum and Cat. 33.1 @ 0.5 T/Annum upto 30.09.2028 with usual conditions as per the policy of the Board. |
