The HCF was earlier granted BMW authorization vides no. BMW/Renewal/LDH1/2024/24985801 dated 15.05.2024 valid upto 15.05.2028 with name and style of M/s Bodh Raj Malhotra Nursing Home, Bus Stand Road, Near Dushera Ground, Ludhiana, for operation of its Hospital.
The HCF has now applied for fresh authorization under Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 with name and style of M/s M/s B.R. Malhotra Nursing Home, Prem Nagar, Bus Stand Road, Machhiwara . The HCF has submitted requisite documents and deposit Rs. 5000/- vide no. N103242986235466 dated 12.04.2024, which is adequate for 5 years upto 31.3.2029.
The HCF was visited by officer of this office on 08.06.2024 & following observations were made:-
1) The HCF was in operation during the visit & has capacity of 10 beds.
2) The HCF has signed an agreement with the common facility M/s Medicare Environmental Management (P) Ltd., Ludhiana for lifting of its Bio-medical Waste valid upto 31.03.2028.
3) The HCF is adopting the proper color-coding as per Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 & segregating its Bio-medical Waste as per Bio- Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016.
4) The HCF has provided 01 no. needle shredder. The sharp waste generated was put in punctured proof container.
5) The HCF is maintaining proper record of BMW generation & the lifting of Bio- medical Waste to M/s Medicare Environmental Management (P) Ltd., Ludhiana.
6) The liquid waste is treated with 10% sodium hypochlorite solution, which is then discharged to sewer.
7) The solid waste/general waste of the HCF was also checked at the time of visit and no mixing of general waste with BMW was found.
8) The HCF is complying with the provisions of Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016.
9) The HCF has connectivity with MC sewer and the sewer ultimately leads to MC STP.
If approved, the validity of authorization under Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 may be granted to the HCF up to 31.03.2029 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board & with special condition that the HCF shall renew its agreement time to time with M/s Medicare Environmental Management (P) Ltd., Ludhiana.
