Sir, as per query of ZO, RO reported that the industry was visited by RO on 31.05.2024 to study the performance of the ETP to bring out the quantity of hazardous Waste generation per 100 KL of treated effluent. The samples to analyze the Total Suspended Solids (TSS) parameter the samples were collected from the various components of ETP and as per analysis report dated 11.06.2024, the concentration of TSS was found as under:- 1. Collection Tank = 616 mg/l 2. Flocculator = 1500 mg/l 3. Primary tube Settler= 29 mg/l 4. FAB-I= 66 mg/l 5. FAB-II= 64 mg/l 6. Secondary Tube Settler = BDL 7. Clean Water Tank =BDL 8. Final outlet of ETP = BDL. In light of above concentration of TSS, the generation of Hazardous Waste will be :- TSS (Flocculator) (-) TSS (Final outlet) 1500 mg/l (-) 0 mg/ l = 1500 mg/l. (or) 1.5 gram/l (or) 0.0015 kg/l (or) 1.5 kg/ Kl (or) 150 kg/100 KL. The appox. quantity of Hazardous Waste Generation will be 150 kg / 100 KL of treated effluent. As per record maintained by the industry the details of discharge of treated trade effluent, Hazardous Waste Generation and Hazardous Waste lifted to CTSDF for the period April, 2023 to March, 2024 are as under:- (a) The treated Trade Effluent discharged = 1,17,316 KL (b) Generation of Hazardous Waste = 1,28,865 Kg (c) Hazardous Waste Lifted to CTSDF = 1,23,630 Kgs.
In view of the above, if approved, authorization under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Trans-boundary Movement) Rules, 2016 may be granted to the industry for five years with suitable conditions, please.(Category - Large Scale, Red Category) (Competency: Worthy Chairman of the Board)
