It is submitted that as per case study Hazardous Waste generation was required 1.5 Kg/KL, but as per industry record the Hazardous Waste generation for the period April, 2023 to March, 2024 remained @1.09 Kg/KL which found on lower side. The matter was discussed with the technical person of the industry. He submitted that 1.5 Kg /KL of Hazardous Waste generation has been calculated by the board on the basis of one day study, whereas 1.09 Kg/KL Hazardous waste generation is on an average basis for full year i.e. April, 2023 to March, 2024. He further informed that the generation of Hazardous Waste also depends upon the colour of dyeing/type of Job (i.e. dyeing of Yarn/Fabric/washing) etc. which depends as per orders from the Market. He further stated that Hazardous waste is also accumulated in ETP components, which are clean during quarterly maintenance. These facts will be put-up through e-noting separately.
Principally, industry is complying with the provisions of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016. Case is pending since 17.04.2024 and is figured in the list of pending beyond timelines cases, which is being monitored by CEO, PBIP every week.
It is therefore recommended that authorization under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Trans-boundary Movement) Rules, 2016 may be granted to the industry for five years with suitable conditions,
