It is intimated that the industry is a large scale orange category unit. The industry was granted authorization under Hazardous Waste (Management, Handling & Trans- boundary Movement) Rules, 2008 vide no. HWM/renew/LDH2/2019/9013720 dated 08.04.2019, upto 07.04.2024 for category 5.1 @ 300 Ltr. /Year, category 33.3 @ 200 Numbers/Year & category 35.3 @ 300 Kg/Year.
Now, the industry has applied for renewal of authorization under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Trans-boundary Movement) Rules, 2016 along with requisite documents through OCMMS for category 5.1 @ 0.300 KL/Year, category 33.1 @ 200 Numbers/Year & category
35.3 @ 0.350 TPA.
The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 11.07.2024 and it was observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation & is engaged in washing, knitting and stitching process for manufacturing of garments from dyed yarn.
2. The industry has provided room of size 3X3X3 meters for hazardous waste of cat. 5.1, 33.1 &
35.3 is provided with lock and key facility and with danger sign display Board.
3. The hazardous waste category 5.1 generated @ 515 Ltr. was lying stored in the HW room provided by the industry.
4. The industry has got lifted hazardous waste of category 33.1 i.e. empty container @ 200 number vide manifest no. 1208 dated 01.06.2023 to M/s Lucky Steel Works, Industrial Area – B, Ludhiana. The hazardous waste category 33.1 generated @ 218 numbers was lying stored in the HW room provided by the industry.
5. The industry has got lifted 1145 Kg of ETP sludge to TSDF Nimbua vide manifest no. 43227 dated 28.03.2023. The hazardous waste category 35.3 generated @ 1095 Kg was lying stored in the HW room provided by the industry.
6. The industry is already a member of TSDF, Nimbua for the lifting of hazardous waste.
7. The industry is complying with the conditions of authorization earlier granted to it.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that authorization under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Trans-boundary Movement) Rules, 2016 may be granted to the industry for five years with suitable conditions and additional condition that the industry will get its HW of cat. 5.1 lifted to authorized re-cycler within one month.
