• It is intimated that the hospital was earlier granted authorization under Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 valid upto 30.06.2023 for 100 beds.
• Now, the hospital has applied for renewal of authorization under Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2018 for 100 beds and detail of the same is as under:-
1. The hospital has deposited Rs. 25000/- vide UTR No. 956753021 dated 09.07.2024 under Bio Medical Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 2016, which is valid upto 30.06.2028.
2. The HCF has submitted MOU signed with M/s Meridian Milieu, Ltd, Bir Pind, Jalandhar for treatment and disposal of its Bio-Medical Waste valid upto 19.12.2025 for 100 beds.
3. The Hospital has submitted a bank guarantee Rs. 50,000/- which is valid upto 06.06.2025.
4. The hospital has submitted site plan, location plan, self declaration certificate and lifting slips with the application.
• The hospital was visited by AEE of this office on 11.03.2024 and it was observed that:-
1. The hospital has provided colour coded bins at various locations as seen during the visit.
2. The hospital has provided needle shredders at various locations which were in operational condition.
3. The hospital has maintained record of bio medical waste generated & lifted to CBWTF. From the record, it is clear that the hospital is regularly getting its Bio-Medical waste lifted to CBWTF.
4. No mixing of Municipal Solid Waste with Bio-Medical Waste was observed during visit.
5. The hospital has provided final storage space for keeping Bio-Medical Waste, from where it is lifted by CBWTF.
6. The hospital has provided liquid treatment system at OT, Lab and IVF lab section and was treating its effluent generated from this section with 1-2% Hypochloride solution followed by ETP. Effluent after treatment is discharged into sewer.
7. The effluent sample was collected during the visit from final outlet of ETP and sent to Boards lab for analysis. As per analysis report received from Zonal Lab, Jalandhar endst No. 895-97 Dated 23.03.2024 results are as under:-

8. The hospital is complying with all the provisions of Bio medical Waste Rules, 2018.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that renewal of authorization under Bio Medical Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 2018 may be granted upto 30.06.2028 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board. (Competency CEE (UP))
