The industry was granted authorization under Hazardous Waste Management Rules, 2016 vide no. HWM/Fresh/SAS/2023/22182507 dated 31.07.2023, valid till 30.06.2024 for Generation, Collection, Storage, Recycling, Disposal to authorized recycler of categories 5.1 @ 0.4 KL/Annum, 5.2 @ 0.120 T/Annum, 35.3 @ 1.800 T/Annum and B3040 @ 6240 T/Annum with certain conditions.
Now, the project proponent has applied renewal authorization for Hazardous Waste Management Rules, 2016 for Generation, Collection, Storage, Recycling, Disposal of categories 5.1 @ 0.4 KL/Annum, 5.2 @ 0.120 T/Annum, 35.3 @ 1.800 T/Annum and B3040 @ 6240 T/Annum along with requisite documents.
The project proponent has submitted agreement of lifting of hazardous waste of category 5.1 @ 40 KL/Annum with M/s Golden Petro. The project proponent has submitted agreement with TSDF Nimbua for lifting of category 5.2 @ 0.120 TPA and category 35.3 @ 1.800 TPA.
The industry was visited by undersigned on 11.07.2024 and during visit, it was observed that:
1. The industry is engaged in business of processing of waste tube and procuring of reclaimed rubber sheets.
2. The industry has installed 01 shredder machine, 02 crackers, 03 auto clave, 06 refiner mills, 02 strainer machine.
3. The manufacturing process consists of raw material (waste tube), sorting, cracking, cooking, pre-refining, straning, testing, package and dispatch.
4. The project proponent has provided hazardous waste room.
5. The representative shown the manifest slip of lifting of hazardous waste of category 5.1@ 27 ltr, which was lifted by the Golden Petro vide manifest no. 16725 dated 03.06.2024, hazardous waste of category 5.2@ 7 kg, which was lifted by the TSDF Nimbuan vide manifest no. 48893 dated 11.04.2024 and hazardous waste of category 35.3@ 800 kg, which was lifted by the TSDF Nimbuan vide manifest no. 48891 dated 11.04.2024.
In view of above, it is recommended that authorization under the provision of Hazardous Waste Management Rules, 2016 may be granted for five year with suitable conditions.
