• The industry is engaged in production of auto parts and is also engaged in Galvanized/Electroplating (Insulator Pins / Allied Items etc.) @ 15 TPD with operation of one induction furnace (capacity 500 kg/heat), 05 hot dip galvanizing furnaces & 05 shot blasting machines…………….
• 'Consents to operate' under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 granted to the industry with validity upto 31.03.2025……………..
• Now, the industry has applied for obtaining fresh authorization under the HOWM Rules, 2016 for generation, collection, storage & disposal of category 6.2, 35.1 & 35.3 of Schedule-I of HOWM Rules, 2016………….
• The industry submitted an agreement executed on 29.06.2024 with M/s Nimbua Greenfield (Punjab) Ltd., Village Nimbua, Distt. Mohali for disposal of its hazardous waste of category 6.2 (Zinc Ash), 35.1 (APCD Dust) of Schedule-I. The industry has submitted copy of annual return in form-IV w.r.t. hazardous waste generated within the premises as on 01.06.2024. The visiting officer has reported that the industry was visited on 20.06.2024 and it was found that the industry has provided separate impervious room with lock & key arrangements for storage of hazardous waste of category 6.2, 35.1 & 35.3. During visit, 204 kg of cat. 6.2, 408 Kg of cat. 35.1 & 240 kg of cat. 35.3 was found stored within the premises of the industry. The industry is maintaining the record regarding the generation of the hazardous waste, no violation reported under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016…………..
• In view of the above, if approved, authorization be granted to the industry for generation, collection, storage & disposal of category 6.2 @ 0.05 TPA, 35.1 @ 0.1 TPA & 35.3 @ 0.12 TPA for a period upto 31.03.2025, subject to the following special condition that that the industry shall ensure to lift its entire quantity of hazardous waste to the authorized TSDF only and shall ensure to maintain proper record of the hazardous waste generated/lifted, which shall be submitted to the Regional Office, Faridkot of the Board in compliance to the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016…………….
