It is submitted that the industry is medium scale orange category induction furnace unit was granted authorization under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 through vide no. HWM/renew/FGS/2023/23683151 dated 10/10/2023 valid upto 30/09/2024 for Generation, Collection, Storage, Disposal of Cat. 35.1 @ 87.5 T/Annum and 5.1 @ 0.020 KL/Annum.
It is further intimated that the industry has applied for varied consent to operate under the provision of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 because which is under process.
Now, the industry has applied for obtaining fresh authorization under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 with requisite documents.
The industry has installed induction furnace of capacity 10 TPH in replace of 06 TPH as result the industry has applied for Generation, Collection, Storage, Disposal of Cat. 35.1 @ 175 T/Annum and Cat. 5.1 @ 0.030 KL/Annum.
To verify the contents, the industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 09/07/2024 During the visit, it was observed as under:
1. The industry was in operation during the visit.
2. The industry has engaging in the manufacturing of Billets (With CCM Plant) Or Round, Square, Hexa and Flats etc. (with rolling mill without reverberatory furnace) @ 150 MTD by using MS Scrap & Ferro Alloys @ 160 MTD.
3. The industry has installed induction furnace of capacity 10 TPH and using bag filter house as APCD which was in operation.
4. The industry has made an agreement for lifting its hazardous waste of Cat. 35.1 with M/s R.P. Multimetals Pvt. Ltd. Unit II and Cat. 5.1 with BRS Lubricants.
5. The industry has lifted its hazardous waste of Cat. 35.1 @ 6.140 MT through vide no. 204 dated 20/06/2024, 6.505 MT through vide no. 136 dated 23/05/2024, 7.705 MT through vide no. 57 dated 24/05/2024 to M/s Madhav KRG Environmental Solution Pvt. Ltd. and 5.390 MT through vide no. 498 dated 23/03/2024 to M/s R.P. Multimetals Pvt. Ltd. Unit II.
6. Presently, approx. 200 Kgs is lying stored in storage facility provided within the premises.
7. The industry has installed 1 no. DG set of capacity 2500 KVA, which is equipped with canopy and stack of adequate height.
8. The industry has provided impervious storage room storage of hazardous waste.
9. The industry has provided septic tank for treatment of domestic effluent and no water is used in the process, so no trade effluent will be generated.
In view of above, if approved it is recommended that the varied authorization under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for Generation, Collection, Storage, Disposal of Cat. 35.1 @ 175 T/Annum and Cat. 5.1 @ 0.030 KL/Annum may be refused to the industry with an opportunity of personal hearing before the Competent Authority of the Board, please.
