• It is intimated that the HCE is a 100 bedded hospital.
• The hospital was earlier granted the authorization under Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 vide no. BMW/Renewal/JAL/2021/15061179 dated 25.02.2021 valid upto 31.12.2023 for 150 beds with special condition is that the HCF shall upgrade ETP cum STP within one month.
• The hospital was visited by office of this office on 16.01.2024. During visit, STP installed by the hospital is lying defunct. Effluent samples was collected during the visit and sent to lab for analysis and as per analysis report various parameters were beyond the prescribed limits of the Board. The authorization was refused.
• Now the, hospital has applied for fresh authorization under Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 for 100 beds through OCMMS of the Board.
• The hospital has deposited Rs. 10,000/- vide UTR number AXOIC33637889931 dated 29.12.2023, adequate upto 31.03.2025.
The hospital was visited by AEE of this office on 25.07.2024 and it was observed that:
1. The HCF has gynae section, emergency section, ICU section, OPD and OT.
2. Hypo treatment arrangement has now been provided in all sections.
3. STP has been installed for effluent, the HCF has got all the components of STP cleaned and re-painted
4. Effluent samples could not be collected during the visit as sufficient effluent was not available.
5. Separate bins are provided in all sections. Final collection rooms is also provided. Waste is being lifted regularly and record is maintained.
In view of above, it is recommended that authorization under Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 may be granted for short term to the hospital upto 31.03.2025 with suitable condition and special condition that the HCF shall get its effluent samples analyzed from the Board’s lab within one month.
