It is submitted that earlier the hospital was granted authorization under Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 vide no. BMW/Fresh/PKT/2020/14163050 dated 26/10/2020, which was valid upto 31/03/2021 (for 10 beds). Now, the hospital has applied for fresh authorization under Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 through OCMMS (for 10 beds).
The hospital has deposited Rs. 5,000/- vide UTR No. SBIN424198130010 dated 16/07/2024 under Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 fee, which is adequate for Five years period upto 30/09/2027. The hospital has submitted copy of latest granted authorization, ownership, bed capacity copy of agreement, site plan/location plan. The HCF has entered into an agreement with M/s Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Plant Pvt. Ltd. Village- Pangoli, Pathankot for collection, transportation, treatment and disposal of Bio-Medical Waste generated by it, which is valid upto 15/07/2026. The hospital has submitted an undertaking that the hospital has 10 bedded. The hospital is having bed capacity of 10 nos. and competency to decide the case lies with Environmental Engineer.
In view of the above, it is recommended that authorization under Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 may be granted to the HCF for a period upto 30/09/2027 for 10 beds subject to suitable conditions along with special conditions:-
1. The HCF will renew its agreement time to time made with Common Bio Medical Waste Treatment Facility well before its expiry and submit the copy of same in this office.
2. The HCF shall adopt / implement the amended Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016.
3. The HCF shall comply with the effluent standards as per the BMW Rules, 2016 for the discharge of effluent from the premises.
