Sir, it is submitted that as on 25/06/2024, the industry generated 63.74 MT of Category 35.1 hazardous waste and stored 2.88 MT of hazardous waste in the on-site storage facility.
It is intimated that the industry was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOW/Fresh/PBIP/FGS/2024/2401726181 dated 06/04/2024 and CTOA/Fresh/PBIP/FGS/2024/2401288794 dated 06/04/2024 both are valid upto 30/06/2024 for the manufacturing of Hot Rolled Coils @ 500000 MTA. Now, the industry has applied for renewal consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. Which is under process.
It is recommended that authorization for generation, collection, storage & disposal of hazardous waste Cat. no. 35.1 @ 1200 MTA, Cat. no. 5.1 @ 1.4 KL/Annum, Cat. no. 5.2 @ 3.2 MTA (APCD FES Bags) and Cat. no. 5.2 @ 01 MTA (Hand Gloves used by workers while working) may be granted to the industry upto 31/03/2025.
