File Note: Remarks: Earlier, the hospital was granted authorization under Bio Medical Waste Rules 2016 vide No. BMW/Fresh/ASR/2021/15205503 dated 19/02/2021, which was valid up to 30/06/2024 for 55 authorized beds. Now, the hospital has applied for obtaining renewal of authorization under Bio Medical Waste Rules, 2016 through OCMMS for same bed capacity. Details of the case are as under:- 1. The hospital has deposited Rs. 25,000/- vide UTR/Reference No. N201243159653775 dated 19/07/2024 as Authorization fee under Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 as per head office letter no. HQ-3/EPA/2023/2799-2815 dated 19/01/2023, adequate for a period of five years. 2. The hospital has submitted an Agreement made with CBWTF, which is valid up to 24/07/2029. The Hospital has visited by this office on 29/07/2024 and observed as under: 1. The Hospital comprising of 55 beds and is engaged in providing medical health services. 2. The Hospital has installed an ETP comprising components equalization tank at ground level fitted with pump motor over it, bio-reactor tube settler, pre-filtration tank, SDB, filters.. 3. Treated water is being discharged into MC sewer. 4. The HCF has provided color coded bins for segregation, collection of Bio-Medical Waste and segregation of Bio-Medical Waste was according to color codes. 5. The HCF has provided needle destroyer for shredding of needles. 6. The HCF is lifting its Bio-Medical Waste to CBMWTF and maintaining the record of the same. 7. The HCF has provided final collection room for storage of bio medical waste generated from its premises. 8. No Bio-Medical Waste found mixed with general waste. Recommendation: In view of above, it is recommended that authorization under Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 may be granted to the HCF upto 30/06/2029 subject to the suitable condition and special condition that the hospital will renew its agreement time to time made with Common Bio Medical Waste Treatment Facility well before its expiry and submit the copy of same in this office.
