Earlier, the industry has granted authorization vide no. HWM/Fresh/LDH1/2018/7618581dated 13.6.2018 valid upto 31.3.2023 for cat. 5.1 @ 0.06 KL/year. Now, the industry has applied for renewal authorization under Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for cat. 5.1 @ 0.1 KLA and cat. 33.2 @ 0.240 KLA. To verify the facts, the industry was visited by RO on 26.7.2024 and observed as under:- 1. The industry was in operation during visit. 2. The industry has provided HW room for storage of hazardous waste category cat. 33.2 and cat. 5.1 stored in steel drums. 3. The industry has provided environmental data board outside the main gate of the industry. 4. The industry has provided Board showing danger sign and category of hazardous waste on room meant for hazardous waste storage. 5. The industry has made an agreement with TSDF NIMBUA for lifting its HW of category 33.2. 6. The industry has made an agreement with M/s Aggarwal Manufacturing Co. Friends Industrial Estate, Focal Point, Ludhiana. 7. As per record maintained by the industry, the unit has generated 60 Ltr of Hazardous waste under cat. 5.1 from the period April 2023 to March. 2024. 8. The industry is maintaining proper record of generation/lifting of hazardous waste. 9. The competency to grant the authorization is Chief Environmental Engineer, Ludhiana.
RO recommended that authorization for generation, storage & disposal of hazardous waste under cat. 5.1 @ 0.1 KLA and cat. 33.2 @ 0.240 KLA may be granted to the industry for five years with suitable conditions please.
In view of the above, it is recommended that authorization for generation, storage & disposal of hazardous waste under cat. 5.1 @ 0.1 KLA and cat. 33.2 @ 0.240 KLA may be granted to the industry for five years with suitable conditions please.
