Remarks/Recommendations:- The industry was earlier granted authorization no. HWM/renew/LDH1/2021/15701728 dated 07.6.2021 valid up to 06.06.2026 for category 5.1 @ 0.12 KLA. Now the industry has applied for obtaining fresh authorization under Hazardous Waste (Management, Handling & Trans-boundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for for category 5.1 @ 0.12 KLA and 35.3 @ 0.50 TPA. To verify the facts, the industry was visited by this office on 26.7.2024 and observed as under:-
1. The industry was in operation during visit.
2. The industry has provided room of 86”x60”x74” for storage of hazardous waste category 5.1 and category 35.3.
3. The industry has provided environmental data board outside the main gate of the industry.
4. The industry has provided Board showing danger sign and category of hazardous waste on room meant for hazardous waste storage.
5. The industry has made an agreement with TSDF NIMBUA for lifting its hazardous waste category 35.3(vibrator sludge).
6. The industry has made an agreement with authorized recycler i.e. M/s Aggarwal Manufacturing Company.
7. The industry is maintaining proper record of generation of all the categories of Hazardous Waste being generated in the premises.
8. The industry is complying with the provisions of Hazardous Waste (Management, Handling & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
9. The competency to grant the authorization is Sr. Environmental Engineer, RO-I, Ludhiana.
In view of the above, it is recommended that authorization for collection, storage & disposal of hazardous waste under category 5.1 @ 0.12 KLA and 35.3 @ 0.50 TPA may be granted to the industry for five years with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board please
