• It is intimated that the industry is small scale Red category unit and is engaged in the process of manufacturing of Gun Metal/Brass Valves & Cocks.
• Now, the industry has applied for fresh of authorization under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for Category 5.1 @ 0.206 KL/annum, Category 33.1 @ 140 numbers/annum, Category 34.1 @ 0.239 T/annum, Category 5.2 @ 5.07 T/annum, and Category 21.1 @ 1.13 T/annum.
• The industry was visited by the by Environmental Engineer along with AEE of this office on 31.07.2024 and it was observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation during visit and engaged in the process of manufacturing of Gun Metal/Brass Valves & Cocks.
2. The industry has installed danger sign board on the wall of storage room.
3. The industry has provided environmental data display board at the main gate of the industry.
4. The industry has submitted the category wise form-IV.
5. The industry has made agreement for disposal of category 34.1 with M/s Ramky Enviro Engineers, Limited, Village Nimbua, Mohali, for disposal of category @ 5.2 & category @ 21.1 with M/s Nimbua Greenfield (Punjab) Association, Village Nimbua, Mohali, for disposal of cateogy @ 33.1 with M/s J.S. Plastic, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana and for disposal of category @ 5.1 with M/s United Petrochem Industries, Jalandhar.
6. During visit, about 217 kg of category 34.1, 4600 kg of category 5.2, 1030 kg of category 21.1, 140 numbers drums of category 33.1 and 206 ltr of category 5.1 is in store.
7. The industry has maintained the records of Hazardous waste generation and storage.
Keeping the above in view, it is recommended that authorization under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for collection, storage & disposal of hazardous waste for Category 5.1 @ 0.206 KL/annum, Category 33.1 @ 140 numbers/annum, Category 34.1 @ 0.239 T/annum, Category 5.2 @ 5.07 T/annum, and Category 21.1 @ 1.13 T/annum may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2029 with usual conditions.
