It is intimated that the industry is a medium scale red category surface coating unit category. Now, the industry has now applied for fresh authorization under Hazardous Waste Rules, 2016 for Category 33.1 @ 20 No./annum, Category 5.1 @ 0.05 KLA & Category 21.1 @ 0.030 TPA. To verify the facts, the industry was visited by this office on 23.04.2025 and observed as under:-
1. The industry was in operation during visit.
2. The industry has provided Hazardous waste storage facility with lock and key arrangement provided for storage category of hazardous waste under category 5.1, 33.1 and 21.1.
3. The industry has provided showing danger sign board and category of hazardous waste at the entrance of room.
4. The industry is maintaining record of generation of the category of Hazardous Waste being generated in the industry.
5. The industry has made an agreement with Satkar Oil Company, Ludhiana for lifting its HWM category 5.1.
6. The industry has made an agreement with JS plastic , Ludhiana for lifting its HWM category 33.1.
7. The industry has been granted 'Consent to Operate' under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 upto 30.06.2029.
8. The industry has provided Board showing danger sign and category of hazardous waste on room meant for hazardous waste storage.
9. The record maintained by the industry w.r.t. generation storage and lifting was checked and found in order.
10. The industry is complying with the provisions of Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management & Trans-boundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
In view of the above, it is recommended that Authorization under Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 may be granted to the industry for generation, storage and disposal of hazardous waste under Cat. 21.1 @ 0.030 TPA, Cat. 33.1 @ 20 Number/Annum, Cat. 5.1 @ 0.20 KLA for further five years with usual terms and conditions, please.
