It is submitted that the industry was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Varied/PBIP/RUP/2023/2306724056 dated 14-Aug-2023 which is valid upto 30-Sept-2028 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Varied/PBIP/RUP/2023/2306459348 dated 14-Aug-2023 valid upto 30-Sept-2028 for manufacturing of Juices @ 75 KL/Day and Carbonated Juice based beverages @ 460 KL/Day.
The industry was granted authorization under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 vide no. HWM/renew/RPN/2021/15653992 dated 19/07/2021 valid upto 30/09/2025 for Generation, Collection, Storage, Disposal and category of 5.1-Used or spent oil @ 0.032 KL/Annum, 35.1-Exhaust Air or Gas cleaning residue @ 3 T/Annum and 35.3-Chemical sludge from waste water treatment @ 4.5 T/Annum in the old name of industry M/s Archian foods.
Now, the industry has applied for obtaining fresh authorization under the new name & style of unit i.e M/s Archian Foods Private Limited under the Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 in for Generation, Collection, Storage, Disposal of hazardous waste under categories i.e.

The industry has submitted the requisite documents along with the application form i.e layout plan, agreement with recycler, Annual return in form-4, partnership deed, manufacturing process, manifests for disposal of hazardous waste, compliance of previous authorization.
The industry has submitted the copy of an agreement with M/s Nimbua Greenfiled (Punjab) Ltd., Village Nimbua, Tehsil Derabassi to dispose of the Hazardous Waste category no. 35.3 and 35.1. The industry has also executed an agreement on 18.09.2025 with M/S Golden Petro, C-45, Focal Point, Chanalon to dispose off the Spent oil of category No. 5.1.
The industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 01.10.2025 to verify the facts at site and observed as under:
1. The industry was in operation and engaged in manufacturing of various soft drinks namely lahori jeera, lahori nimbus, shikanji, Aam rus.
2. The industry has installed 02 no. STPs of capacities of 25 KLD each and same was in operation during visit.
3. The industry has installed ETP of capacity of 50 KLD to treat effluent generated from process. ETP was in operation during visit, water meter has been installed at the outlet; reading of the same is 41199 KL.
4. The industry has also installed another ETP of capacity @ 100 KLD and based on MBBR technology. The ETP was in operation during visit, water meter has been installed at the outlet of ETP, reading of the same is 49236.4 KL.
5. The industry has maintained the record of ETP.
6. The industry has installed boiler of capacity 1 T/hr with wood used as fuel, which is provided with dust collector as APCD and same was in operation. The industry has provided porthole and sampling arrangements with the stack of the APCD.
7. The industry is generating the Hazardous Waste as per detail given below:
Category No. 35.3: in form of sludge generated from the ETP. During visit 134 Bags containing 30 Kg each were lying stored in hazardous waste storage room.
Category No. 35.1: in form of dust generated from the APCD stored in separate room. During visit 134 Bags containing 24 Kg each were lying stored in hazardous waste storage room.
Category No. 5.1: in form of Spent oil generated during service of D.G. Set. During visit 55 kg of spent oil was lying stored in hazardous waste storage room.
8. The industry has provided the 02 Hazardous Waste Storage room of size7’x6’x7.5’ and 28’x11’x8’ with Lock and key facility.
9. The industry has provided hazardous symbol outside the storage facility.
10. The industry has provided environmental data display board outside the main gate.
11. The industry is maintaining the record of the hazardous waste stored in the hazardous waste storage room.
12. The industry has last lifted @ 3255 Kg of ETP sludge and @ 10155 Kg of APCD dust on 16.07.2025 to TSDF Nimbua and 795 kg of used oil on 26.09.2025 to M/s Golden Petro.
13. The industry is having the valid consents of the Board under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that authorization under the Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 may be granted for five years with usual conditions and with the special conditions that:
(1) The industry shall dispose off its Hazardous Waste of category No. 35.3 and 35.1 to M/S Nimbua Greenfiled (Punjab) Ltd., Village Nimbua and Hazardous Waste of Category No. 5.1 to the authorized re-processors.
(2) The industry shall not lift the hazardous waste to any unauthorized person.
(3) The industry shall ensure regular lifting of hazardous waste to the common facility/re-processors and shall not be stored beyond 90 days in its premises at any time.
(4) The industry shall handle the hazardous waste(s) strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 and guidelines issued by Central Pollution Control Board / Ministry of Environment & Forests and Climate Change, New Delhi.
