It is intimated that the industry is a small scale red category unit having CTO under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 valid upto 05.11.2025 with suitable terms and conditions mentioned therein………….. Now the industry has applied for authorization under Hazardous Wastes (Management Handling & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for category 11.4 @ 0.120 TPA and category 5.1 @ 0.036 KLA.
The industry engaged in manufacture of Aluminum Alloy ingots @ 40 MT/Day, Purified AI logs/billets (for captive consumption) @ 20 MT/Day and Aluminum Profiles @ 18 MT/Day using Aluminum Scrap (indigenous/ in-house /imported) @ 61 MT/Day, Purified Aluminum Ingots/Logs @ 6 MT/Day and Alloying Additives @ 1 MT/Day……………………… The industry has provided the room storage of hazardous waste room for storage of category 11.4 & 5.1 with lock and key arrangement. ………….. The industry has provided Board showing danger sign and the category of hazardous waste on room meant for hazardous waste storage. 4. The industry has made an agreement with TSDF NIMBUA Greenfield Ltd. for the disposal of its hazardous waste category 11.4. The industry has stored around 87 kgs of hazardous waste of category 11.4 …….. 5. The industry has made an agreement with authorized recycler i.e. Aggarwal manufacturing for category 5.1. The industry has stored around 20 ltrs of hazardous waste under 5.1 category. 6. The industry is maintaining record of generation of hazardous waste and storage. 7. The competency to decide the authorization is Sr. Environmental Engineer, ZO-I, Ludhiana………….
In view of the above, it is recommended that authorization for generation & storage of hazardous waste for category 11.4 @ 0.120 TPA and category 5.1 @ 0.036 KLA may be granted to the industry for six month with suitable terms and special conditions that the industry in the meantime shall apply for renewal of consent.(comp.
