It is intimated that the industry is a small scale unit, which is having valid consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, which are valid upto 31.03.2029.
Earlier the industry was granted Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 vide no. HWM/renew/LDH3/2021/14440729 dated 22.02.2021 for the for category of 5.1 @ 0.053 KL/Annum and 35.2 @ 3.04 T/Annum, which was expired on 30.06.2025.
Now the industry has applied for fresh of Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for the for category of 5.1 @ 0.053 KL/Annum and 35.2 @ 3.04 T/Annum. The industry has also submitted the form-4 with the application.
The industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 28.08.2025 & it was observed as under:-
1. The industry was in operation.
2. The industry has provided a common storage room for the storage of all hazardous waste generated from its premises.
3. The industry has made an agreement with TSDF Nimbua for lifting of hazardous waste of category 35.2. Spention exchange resin containing toxic metals about 1983.570 Kgs was found stored in the hazardous waste storage room in scientific manner.
4. Hazardous waste of category 5.1 i.e. spent oil was stored @ nil at site. The industry informed that they used to consume the spent oil for lubrication of their machines etc.
5. The industry has provided the danger sign, indicating the storage room size & categories of waste at outside and each hazardous waste room.
6. The industry has provided environmental data board at the main entrance of the industry.
7. The industry is complying with the provisions of Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
In view of above, it is recommended that authorization for generation, collection, storage and disposal of hazardous waste of category 5.1 @ 0.053 KL/Annum and 35.2 @ 3.04 T/Annum may be granted to the industry for the period upto 30.06.2030 with suitable terms and conditions.
