File Note: It is submitted that the project proponent was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Fresh/SAS/2021/15590767 dated 23.04.2021, valid till 30.09.2025 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Fresh/SAS/2021/15586727 dated 23.04.2021, valid till 30.09.2025 for manufacturing of Tablets @ 100000 Numbers/Day, Capsules @ 100000 Numbers/Day, Syrup (bottles) @ 20000 Numbers/Day and Soap/ Lotion/ Ointment @ 15000 Numbers/ Day with certain conditions. Thereafter, the project proponent had obtained autorenewal consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and the same was valid till 25.09.2030. Now, the industry has applied for obtaining authorization under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for generation, collection, storage & disposal of hazardous wastes category 5.2- Wastes or residues containing oil @ 0.060 T/Annum, category 33.1 - Empty barrels/containers /liners contaminated with hazardous chemical s /wastes @ 540 No./Annum and category 37.3 - Concentration or evaporation residues @ 0.060 T/Annum along with requisite documents. The project proponent has submitted copy of agreement for lifting of hazardous waste of category 5.2 @ 0.060 T/Annum and 37.3 @ 0.060 T/Annum with TSDF Nimbua. The project proponent has submitted copy of agreement for lifting of hazardous waste of category 33.1 @ 540 no./ annum with M/s Surya Chemicals. Accordingly, the industry was visited by undersigned on 10.11.2025 and it was observed as under: 1. The industry is engaged in the business of manufacturing of Tablets, Capsules, Syrup (bottles) and Soap/Lotion/Ointment. 2. The industry has provided proper hazardous waste room of size 10’ x 5’ x 5’ for the storage of hazardous wastes of all the above mentioned categories. 3. The industry is storing the hazardous waste in the storage facility is an environmentally sound and proper manner. 4. The project proponent has stored category 33.1 @ 0 no. drums, category 5.2 @ 7 kg and 37.3 @ 15 kg in the hazardous waste room. The industry has not yet lifted hazardous waste. 5. The project proponent has provided environmental data Board outside its premises. In view of above, it is recommended that authorization may be fresh to industry for the following categories under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for one year with suitable conditions as per the policy of the Board and the additional conditions that:- 1. The industry shall handle the hazardous waste(s) strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 and guidelines issued by Central Pollution Control Board / Ministry of Environment & Forests and Climate Change, New Delhi. 2. The industry shall ensure regular lifting of hazardous waste and also ensure that the quantity of hazardous waste generated per year shall not be stored beyond 90 days (extendable upto 180 days) in its premises at any time. 3. The industry shall lift hazardous waste to authorized vendors of the State Pollution Control Board only. *Competency – Senior Environmental Engineer
