File Note: Sub:- Application obtaining fresh authorization under Bio Medical Waste Rules, 2016- M/s Kohli Multispeciality Hospital (A Unit of EMC Group of Hospitals), Dadwan Road, Dhariwal, Tehsil & District-Gurdaspur. It is submitted earlier the HCF was granted authorization under Bio Medical Waste, Rules, 2016 under name and style M/s Kohli Multispeciality Hospital, Dadwan Road, Dhariwal, Tehsil & District-Gurdaspur for 29 beds vide online reference no. BMW/Fresh/GRP/2024/27578435 dated 30/12/2024 which is valid upto 30/09/2029 with certain conditions. Now, the HCF has applied for obtaining fresh under Bio Medical Waste, Rules, 2016 under new ownership and name & style M/s Kohli Multispeciality Hospital (A Unit of EMC Group of Hospitals), Dadwan Road, Dhariwal, Tehsil & District-Gurdaspur for 29 beds through OCMMS system along with requisite documents and fee may kindly be perused. The Hospital has already submitted Rs. 10000/- vide UTR No. 132276830 dated 20/12/2024 as Bio-Medical Waste, Rules, 2016, which is valid upto 30/09/2029. The HCF has entered into an agreement with M/s Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Plant Pvt. Ltd. Village- Pangoli, Pathankot for collection, transportation, treatment and disposal of Bio-Medical Waste generated by it. The HCF has submitted various documents attached with the application in PDF format, which may kindly be pursued. The HCF comprises of 29 beds and has capacity to generate effluent @ 12 KLD. The HCFD has installed STP comprising Screen Chamber > Collection Tank > Flash Mixer > Primary Tube Setller > MBBR Reactor/Aeration Tank > Secondary Tube Settler (Excess Sludge to Sludge Beds) > Filter Feed Tank > Pressure Sand Filter (Backwash Water to Collection Tank) > Activated Carbon Filter (Backwash Water to Collection Tank) > MC Sewer Line. The HCF has submitted completion certificate & Feasibility report of STP of capacity @ 15 KLD installed by it. The HCF has also submitted a report issued from Municipal Council, Dhariwal regarding connectivity of its sewer with MC, Dhariwal. The Hospital was visited by officer of this office on 12/11/2025 and observed as under:- 1. The hospital comprising of 29 beds engaged in the process of providing medical services. 2. The hospital has installed STP of capacity 15 KLD for treatment of its effluent generated from hospital premises. STP was in operation at the time of visit and treated effluent was being discharged into MC sewer. 3. The HCF has installed one no. D.G. set of capacity 15 KVA, which is provided with canopy. 4. The HCF has provided color coded bins for collection/segregation of Bio Medical Waste, segregation of BMW found proper as per color codes. 5. The HCF has provided needle destroyers for shredding of needles. 6. The HCF is maintaining the record of Bio Medical Waste lifted to CBWTF. The HCF is complying with the provisions of the Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016. In view of the above, if approved, that authorization under Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 may be granted to the HCF for a period upto 30/09/2029 for 29 beds subject to suitable conditions along with special condition that the HCF will renew its agreement time to time made with Common Bio Medical Waste Treatment Facility well before its expiry and submit the copy of same in this office. The hospital is having bed capacity of 29 nos. and competency to decide the case lies with Environmental Engineer.
