Further, the industry was granted authorization under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 vide no. HWM/Fresh/SAS/2025/29148538 dated 08.09.2025, having validity upto 31.12.2025. The project proponent has submitted an agreement executed on 08.03.2022 between M/s. Surya Chemicals having its registered office at Office No. 17, 2nd Floor, City Court Commercial Complex, Kalka Highway, Zirakpur Distt. Mohali, Punjab (herein after called the ”Facility Operator”) & M/s Akums Lifesciences Ltd., a Act, 2013, and company governed by Companies having its manufacturing unit at Village Sundran, Derabassi, Mohali - 140507. (herein after referred to as the the Cenerator" for disposal of hazardous waste of category 33.1. The project proponent has submitted an agreement executed on 29.03.2022 between M/S. NIMBUA GREENFIELD (PUNJAB) LIMITED. a Public Limited Company, incorporated under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 and having its Registered Office at Village Nimbua, Tehsil Derabassi, Distt. Mohali- 140507. Punjab (hereinafter referred to as the “Developer" and M/s Akums Lifesciences Limited having its Registered Office a Unt No. E3H. 3 Floor Godrej Etemia Commereial Complex,Plot No. 70 Industrial area.Phase 1 Chandigarh. Its work at Village sundran, P.O- Mubarikpur and Village- Chhachrauli P.O-Lalru, Tahsil-Derabassi, Dist-Mohali (Punjab) (herein after referred to as the "the Generator". Visit: To verify the compliance the industry was visited by the officer of this office on 03.10.2025. During visit, it was observed as under: 1. The industry was in operation and engaged in manufacturing of API’s by using various chemicals. 2. The project proponent has made expansion in its existing premises. No new land and building has been constructed by the industry. Only the existing machinery has been updated with the new technology to add new products as per market demand. The industry has already obtained Environmental Clearance for the said expansion. 3. The industry has provided all the three storage rooms with proper lock and key facilities and all of these are pucca from bottom and properly covered from all sides. 5. The industry has stored hazardous waste category 35.3, 37.2 & 37.3 in HDPE bags and proper marking/numbering was found to be done on the bags. 6. The industry is storing hazardous waste of all the categories as per the provision of Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016. From above, it is clear that the industry is complying with the previous observations and is now provisions of Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016. In view of above, if may approved, the industry may be granted authorization under the Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary movement) Rules, 2016 for generation, collection, storage & disposal of hazardous wastes for five years with usual conditions as per the policy of the Board and the following additional condition: a. The industry shall comply with the provisions of Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016, at all times. b. The industry shall not generate any other category of hazardous waste in its premise, except the hazardous wastes mentioned in this authorization. c. The industry shall keep proper record of incineration of hazardous waste of different categories, at all times. d. The industry shall submit record of manifests of lifting of hazardous waste in form 10, as per the provisions of Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016. e. The industry shall not dispose any of the hazardous waste through any un- authorized/legal mode, at any point of time. *Competency - Chairperson of the Board.
