It is intimated that the industry is small scale red category Painting of sewing machine body.
The industry was granted authorization under Hazardous Wastes (Management & Handling and Trans-boundary Movement) Rules, 2016 vide no. HWM/renew/LDH3/2023/21335019 dated 01/08/2023 was valid upto 30/06/2025 for hazardous waste for category 21.1 @ 0.8 Kgs/day & category 5.1 @ 0.005 KL/year with conditions mentioned therein.
Now, the industry has applied for authorization under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management & Tran boundary Movement) Rules, 2016 through OCMMS for generation, collection, storage& disposal of Cat.21.1 @ 20 Kg/day & 5.1 @ 0.005 KL/annum at actual generation of hazardous waste.
The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 27.11.2025 and during visit, it was observed as under:-
1. The industry was in operation and is engaged in the process of painting of sewing machine body.
2. The industry has submitted agreement with M/s Satkar oil co. for category Cat. 5.1 (Spent Oil), around 2 litre of spent oil was found stored inside the unit and agreement with TSDF Nimbua for category Cat. 21.1 (Process wastes, residues & sludge) membership no. 2238. The industry has got lifted its paint sludge (category 21.1) of quantity 600 kg paint sludge lifted vide manifest no. 55813 dated 28.05.2025. During visit, around 98 Kgs paint sludge was found stored inside the unit.
3. The industry has installed one D.G. set of 32KVA equipped with canopies, which is generating waste oil during its service. During visit, no waste under this category was lying at site. The representative submitted that it is being used as lubrication in machines.
4. The industry has provided hazardous waste storage room of size Stored in HWM room 10' X10' X 10' for sludge 21.1 & 5.1 and key arrangements with room.
5. The industry has installed danger signboard on the wall of storage room & installed environmental data board at the main entrance of the industry.
6. The industry was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, which valid upto 30.06.2030.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that authorization under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Trans-boundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for generation, collection, storage & disposal of Cat. 21.1 @ 20 kg/day & 5.1 @ 0.005 KL/annum may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2030 with usual condition, please.
