The unit has submitted the reply of the SCN issued to it ,as the industry has applied for authorization for larger quantity of hazardous waste under category 35.3 and 33.1. As per form 4, the quantity generated for hazardous waste category 35.3 is 101.76 MT and for category 33.1 is 222 no. in year 2024-25, which is very less as compare to applied quantity of hazardous waste category 35.3 @ 2000 MTA and 33.1 @ 600 MTA. Similarly, quantity of hazardous waste category 5.1 is also having difference in generation and application.
In reply to SCN ,the industry has submitted written reply on OCMMS , has informed that they have applied renewal of HWM Authorization as per full installed capacity i.e. Category 35.3 @2000 TPA, 5.1 (used or spent oil) @1.9KLA and 33.1 @600 Number/Annum. After Covid-19, the production was decreased very low as per market demand of Dyed yarn/fiber/fabric. They are having mostly demand Grey yarn/fibre/fabric, which causes less generation of Hazardous waste. But it is expected that the demand of Dyed yarn/fibre/fabric will be rise in future. In the view of which we continued with the same capacity/generation HWM authorization. There is regular slump in the market of Dyed yarn/fibre/fabric from last 5-6 years and still continued. Due to which production and turnover is badly affected. You are requested to please review our Renewal of applied HWM Authorization and grant us with the same capacity of Authorization as previous.
Considering report of the RO and reply of the industry , it is intimated the qty of HW generation is far less than applied qty and ind. has submittted that they are having mostly demand Grey yarn/fibre/fabric, which causes less generation of Hazardous waste and the demand of Dyed yarn/fibre/fabric will be rise in future. Therfore, presently the unit needs to apply for decreased qty , and as and when the demand of Dyed yarn/fibre/fabric will rise ,the unit unit mat reapply for varied authorization for increase qt. please.
Therefore, it is recommended that the application of the ind.for authorization under HWM be refused please. |
