• It is intimated that the industry is small scale red category unit.
• The industry was granted authorization under Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 Vide No. Vide No. HWM/JAL/2015/2557118 dated 18.06.2015 valid upto 31.03.2020.
• Earlier, the industry was visited by undersigned on 12.09.2025 and it was observed that the industry is a small scale red category unit which was in operation during the visit and is engaged in manufacturing of pipe fittings & auto parts on job basis. The industry has installed one induction furnace with wet scrubber as APCD. The industry has installed one shot blasting machine with bag house filter as APCD which was not in operation during the visit. There is no source of trade effluent generation and only domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer after passing through septic tank. Entire cooling water is being re-circulated. The industry has provided separate room for the storage of hazardous waste. The industry has maintained the record of generation & disposal of hazardous waste at site. The industry was already granted consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 valid upto 03.11.2028 through auto renewal module. The industry has failed to apply for varied consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 as the production of the industry has been increased. The industry has also failed to apply for authorization under Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 till date from the Board.
• Thereafter, the industry was issued show cause notice for violation of the provisions of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 with an opportunity of personal hearing before Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office, Jalandhar on 14.11.2025 and the proceeding of the same is awaited.
• Now, the industry has applied for authorization under Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 for Category 34.1 @ 0.13 T/annum and category 5.1 @ 0.06 KL/annum through OCMMS of the Board.
• The industry has submitted layout plan and agreement with TSDF Nimbua, proprietorship certificate with the application.
• The industry has submitted form-4 as per which the industry has stored hazardous waste category 34.1 @ 52 kg and category 5.1 @ 72 ltr at site.
