| File Note: |
Kindly peruse the note of EE, ZO. On perusal of the said note, it is submitted that the industry is a Medium Scale Red Category unit. The unit was earlier granted authorization under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 vide No. HWM/Fresh/LDH2/2018/7630820 dated 25.07.2018, valid up to 30.06.2023, for Category 35.3 (15 TPA), Category 33.1 (500 Nos./Annum) and Category 5.1 (0.175 KL/Annum).
The industry has now applied through OCMMS for fresh authorization for Category 5.1 (waste oil) @ 0.070 KL/Annum, Category 33.1 (empty containers) @ 50 Nos./Annum and Category 35.3 (ETP sludge) @ 19.5 TPA along with requisite documents.
The industry was visited by AEE on 23.10.2025, and the following observations were observed:
No bags of hazardous waste of Category 35.3 were found stored in the designated storage room, despite records showing a closing balance of ~1150 kg.
In view of the discrepancies observed during inspection, particularly non-availability of Category 35.3 sludge in the storage room despite recorded closing balance, and procedural non-compliances, it is recommended that a Show Cause Notice for refusal of authorization under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 be issued to the industry.
(The cost of plant and machinery is Rs. 4315.92 lakh. Being a Medium Scale Red Category unit, t competency: Hon’ble Chairperson of the Board).
