It is submitted that a Show Cause Notice (SCN) was issued to the industry vide this office letter No. 2468 dated 27.11.2025 under the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, providing an opportunity of personal hearing before the Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Sri Muktsar Sahib, on 01.12.2025 to explain its position. Pursuant thereto, proceedings were issued, and to verify compliance of the same, the industry was inspected on 12.12.2025 and was found non-complying.
Thereafter, another SCN was issued to the industry vide letter No. 2561 dated 29.12.2025 under the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981, granting an opportunity of personal hearing on 30.12.2025. However, the industry requested, through telephonic communication, that an alternate date of hearing be granted due to domestic reasons.
After due consideration of the request, another opportunity has been granted to the industry, and accordingly, an SCN has been issued vide letter No. 19 dated 12.01.2026 before refusal of Consent to Operate under the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 with an opportunity of personal hearing before the Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Sri Muktsar Sahib, on 15.01.2026 to explain its position. |
