The application of the industry was scrutinize and following incompletion/shortcoming were observed:-
1. Compliance of the earlier granted consent conditions has not been submitted.
2. Water balance showing fresh water consumption, re-use after RO and RO reject fed to evaporator has not been provided.
3. No details of flow measuring device provided on evaporator has been given, so as to record steam fed to evaporator for achieving ZLD.
4. The report of the expert committee dated 02.02.2024 reveals that the real time/actual capacity of the evaporator installed by the industry was checked during the visit by making the evaporator operational and it was only made possible after diverting entire steam from boiler to the evaporator. Further practically the evaporator was able to evaporate 300 ltr of RO reject in 1 hr 30 min. However, in the feasibility report the capacity of evaporator has been mentioned 1000 ltr/hr. The committee has further recommended installation of additional dedicated boiler for evaporation of RO reject.
The industry needs to provide calculations justifying the installed capacity of the evaporator as 1000 ltr/hr along with steam requirement calculations (operating pressure), as the boiler installed by the industry is a baby boiler. You are requested to clarify so as to proceed further in the matter.
